Tomás O Deirg asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the total amounts expended by the Land Commission in the improvement of estates during the years 1927-8 and 1928-9.

Mr. Roddy: The amounts expended by the Land Commission on the improvement of estates during the years in question were respectively £267,025 and £226,800.

Mr. Derrig: I would like to ask the Parliamentary Secretary whether that includes the amount that was spent under the Vote for the relief schemes or is it in addition to them.

Mr. Roddy: These are amounts spent exclusively on the estate improvement works.
