Mr. Fogarty Mr. Fogarty Mr. Fogarty asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that William Connors, James Byrne, Michael Dineen, Peter Hickey, James Madden and John Casey, employees of the Carrick-on-Suir Creamery, and with service ranging from fourteen to thirty-three years, have been discharged as redundant, as a result of the creamery purchase scheme; and, if so, and whether, having regard to their long service, it is intended to compensate them for the loss of their employment. Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Hogan) Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Hogan) Minister for Agriculture (Mr. Hogan): Compensation is payable only to permanent employees who had at least one year's continuous service immediately prior to the acquisition of the properties of the Condensed Milk and Newmarket Dairy Companies on behalf of the Government.
