Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kinsale Workhouse.

Mr. Mullins asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he has received an application from the Cork County Council for sanction to the raising of a loan for the reconstruction of the old workhouse buildings at Kinsale into a suitable hospital, and whether in view of the urgency of the matter he will give the necessary sanction without further delay.

General Mulcahy: The proposed works have been approved, and there is no objection to the Board accepting tenders. As regards the issue of a loan the matter is under consideration in conjunction with the Department of Finance with a view to an advance of the amount from the Local Loans Fund.
