Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Game Protection.

Mr. Shaw asked the Minister for Justice if he can give an approximate date for the introduction of the Game Protection Amending Bill.

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: A draft Game Preservation Bill has been prepared, but there are some points of detail yet to be settled, and I am in consultation with persons interested in the subject with a view to reaching a decision. I hope to be soon in a position to bring the Bill in a finished State before the Executive Council for final consideration, and the Bill will then be introduced.

Mr. Shaw: Is the Minister aware there is an urgent necessity for this Bill in view of the fact that game is rapidly becoming extinct in the Free State?

Mr. Fitzgerald-Kenney: I agree with the Deputy that a Bill of this nature is requisite, and I am almost certain that the Bill will be law before the next shooting season begins.
