Dáil Éireann - Volume 28 - 27 February, 1929 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salaries of Transferred Civil Servants. Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe asked the Minister for Finance if he will give (a) a return of Civil Servants whose basic salary, at the time their services were taken over by the Saorstát, was £600 per annum and over; (b) their present salaries, and (c) their stations previous to appointments under the Saorstát. Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe 404 Mr. Blythe: Information under the headings stated in the Deputy's question is not found necessary for official purposes and no return in the form indicated is available. Inquiries necessary to ascertain the details and the compilation of the information, when obtained, would involve a good deal of time and labour, and changes in the service would soon render the return obsolete. Unless, therefore, there were [404] urgent reasons necessitating this return, I do not think it should be undertaken. Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe: Am I to take it from the Minister's reply that there would be a great number of such civil servants? Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe: I do not know. Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe Mr. Briscoe: The Minister's statement is that this would involve a large amount of work, and I take it that would imply that there would be a great number of such officers in the service? Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe Mr. Blythe: The inquiry would involve a good deal of labour. Dáil Éireann 28 Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. Salaries of Transferred Civil Servants. Questions 19290227
