Seamus O Murchadha Seamus O Murchadha Seamus O Murchadha asked the Minister for Finance if the British Government has agreed to take back at their face value the British silver coins at present in circulation in the Saorstát. Minister for Finance (Mr. Blythe) Ernest Blythe Minister for Finance (Mr. Blythe): The British Government has agreed to take back at their face value over a period slightly in excess of 10 years British silver coins at present in circulation in the Saorstát to the extent of £750,000, which is the total face value of the new Saorstát coins delivered or on order. Mr. MacEntee Mr. MacEntee Mr. MacEntee asked the Minister for Finance if there is any foundation for the statements which have been made that the British authorities refused to take back at its face value the British silver and copper coinage in circulation in Saorstát Eireann, and, if so, what is the ground of such refusal, is it still persisted in, and, if not, how has the difficulty been adjusted.
