Mr. WALSH Mr. WALSH Mr. WALSH asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state when the Land Commission proposes to deal with the congestion that exists on the Colonel Lynch estate, Partry district, Co. Mayo; whether he has received an appeal in the form of a petition from the tenants on this estate, and whether he will state what steps the Land Commission will take this year to meet the demands of the tenants. Mr. RODDY Mr. RODDY Mr. RODDY: The Land Commission has already made efforts to relieve the congestion on this estate by offering to migrate some of the tenants, who refused to do so, and by allotting portion of the land which was acquired in the townland of Creagh demesne under the Land Act of 1923 (Knox estate) to other tenants on this estate. An appeal stated to be made on behalf of the tenants and signed by one individual has been received. The resale of this estate is being dealt with as expeditiously as the circumstances permit. Mr. WALSH Mr. WALSH Mr. WALSH: Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the tenants on this estate have applied for the land that is at the disposal of the Department.
