D'fhiafruigh PROINNSIAS O FATHAIGH den Aire Oideachais an bhfuil fhios aige nach raibh aon chomórtas ann i gcóir Corn na Dála i mbliana i meadhon-scoileanna na gcailíní san iarthar ná sa cheanntar thoir thuaidh, ná i meadhon-scoileanna na mbuachaillí san iarthar; agus an mian leis an aireacht leanamhaint den chomórtas san agus cuirn nua do sholáthar de réir mar a bhéas gábhadh leo.

MINISTER for EDUCATION (Professor O'Sullivan): Eight of these cups were originally offered for competition; five have now been won outright under the conditions of the competition. The question of replacing cups which had been won was considered two years ago, and it was decided that as the purpose for which these competitions were originally instituted was being secured by other means, it was not necessary to provide for their continuance.
