Mr. P.J. GORRY asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is in a position to state how far his Department have proceeded in the acquisition of the McMahon Estate, Cashel, Leix, and in the preparation of a scheme of division in connection therewith; whether the inspector who visited the area has fully inquired into all applications received for divisions of above land, and, if not, whether he will instruct the inspector to return to the district again with instructions to complete inquiries there.

Mr. RODDY: An order has been made by the Judicial Commissioner authorising the resumption of the holding of Mrs. McMahon, on the estate of E. B. Sheppard and Others. A scheme for the division and distribution of these lands is in course of preparation and all applications for parcels thereof received in the Land Commission will be duly considered in connection therewith.
