Mr. MAGUIRE asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what is the report of the engineer from his Department who inspected part of the Drumkeerin area, Co. Leitrim, within the past few months; if it is the intention of his Department to carry out a drainage scheme in this area; what is the total estimated cost of the proposed scheme; from what source or sources it is proposed to provide the required amount; and whether he will state when it is proposed to start the work.

Mr. RODDY: No inspection was made by a Land Commission inspector of any drainage scheme in Drumkeerin area of County Leitrim within the past few months; no report has been submitted relative to any such matter and no such scheme is under consideration by the Land Commission.

Mr. MAGUIRE: Am I to understand that no engineer has been sent down by the Land Commission to inspect the lands in and around Drumkeerin in connection with the drainage scheme there?
