WALSH asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Land Commission propose to take over for distribution amongst the uneconomic landholders in the district portion of the lands known as Creagh demesne, Creagh House, Knox Estate, Co. Mayo, comprising 533 acres, at present in possession of the Board of Health, Co. Mayo; whether he is aware that the Board of Health do not require all this land and that they are anxious that the Land Commission would take it over with the exception of about 50 acres. Mr. RODDY Mr. RODDY Mr. RODDY: The Land Commission are awaiting the lodgment of particulars accompanied by a map of the lands which are not required by the County Mayo Board of Health, and on receipt of these documents the question of purchasing the lands not required will be considered by the Commissioners. Mr. DAVIS Mr. DAVIS Mr. DAVIS: Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the Board of Health are anxious that the Land Commission should take over portion of the land acquired by them? Mr. WALSH Mr. WALSH Mr. WALSH: I associate myself with the views of Deputy Davis in this matter. Mr. RODDY Mr. RODDY Mr. RODDY: There have been questions with the County Board of Health on two or three occasions. The Land Commission is quite prepared to take over portion of the land provided the County Board of Health point out the particular portion they want them to take over.
