Mr. BLYTHE: I move:

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £10,500 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1929, chun Rátaí, agus Síntiúisí in ionad Rátaí, etc., i dtaobh Maoine Rialtais.

That a sum not exceeding £10,500 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1929, for Rates and Contributions in lieu of Rates, [1797] etc., in respect of Government Property.

The position is that Government property is legally exempt from rates and that money is voted and the local authorities paid the amount, roughly speaking, that they would have obtained if Government property were not exempt from rates.

Mr. CORRY: There is one item here of £375 for the Governor-General's establishment. Could not the Governor-General pay that £375 out of the £10,000 a year that he gets in salary?
