Mr. J. CONLAN asked the Minister [3181] for Defence if Patrick O'Gorman, a native of Johnstown Bridge, Co Kildare, was discharged from the National Army on the 16th November, 1923, suffering from tuberculosis; if this malady was contracted during the period of his military service, and if the Minister can see his way to grant O'Gorman's mother, who is a widow in indifferent circumstances, a compassionate allowance to compensate her for the loss of her son's services.

The PRESIDENT: I am not aware that Patrick O'Gorman was discharged from the Army suffering from tuberculosis. He was discharged as medically unfit suffering from myopia and astigmatism. I regret that I have no power to entertain the application for compensation.
